I was thrilled to co-host this topical workshop with engaging speakers and an enthusiastic audience. There is clearly an appetite for more global cooperation on eDNA sampling; a regional Ocean Biomolecular Observing Network (OBON) hub for this biodiversity hotspot? This audience think so!

Well done Miroslav Homola on publishing this fabulous paper today. A lot of hard work, glad I (@thembauk) could be of some help. Structure and replication cycle of a virus infecting climate-modulating alga Emiliania huxleyi | Science Advances science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Such sad news, Paul was a statistics guru and didn’t shy away from any problem you could feasibly apply stats to. Even as a hard core marine ecologist he turn his hand to deciphering ecology through DNA. Above all, he was a thoroughly decent and funny guy.

DASSH at The Marine Biological Association have an incredible amount of data archived showing the kelp forests around our coasts, one of our most biodiverse and productive ecosystems which unfortunately may be affected by events such as marine heatwaves. It's so we thought we'd share some illustrations from the 1838 atlas on 'infusionthierchen' by C.G. Ehrenberg. One of largest books in the library MBA - Marine Biological Association it highlights the variety of some of the smaller inhabitants of marine and freshwater environments

And thanks for the great tour of the new facilities Michael Cunliffe 🏳️‍🌈! Not just the amazing new labs…. But also the new inspired by the Nobel prize winning squid neurone research (beautifully preserved on the ceiling still after all these years!) and The Famous Citadel Wall! 💪
