In my observation, there’s a noticeable difference in performance between players who’ve been on the circuit for all three years and those just joining at the 17U level.

College coaches vary in their recruiting approaches. Each program has its own academic standards, roster needs, evaluation criteria, and recruitment timelines. Because of this, generalizations about the recruitment process don’t always apply across the board.

Trainers will charge kids $400–$1,000/month, then turn around and say travel programs shouldn’t charge fees. Meanwhile, sponsored teams collect thousands in donations, have coaches working for free, and don’t even cover their travel. Make it make sense.
