Haughton Girls •Will make a run for the top spot in district 1-5A. Will be led by a group of seniors. The Lady Bucs will be hard to defend with their interior post presence and perimeter shooting ability. Should be able to make a playoff run this year.

Benton Girls • Will compete for one of the top spots in district 1-5A. The Lady Tigers have good guard play. They also have a skilled post player. The Lady Tigers will improve each week.

Haughton Boys •The Bucs are playing with a lot of confidence and energy this year. The Bucs want to play with tempo and get easy transition baskets, but as of now they do not have an identity in the half court setting.

The Bucs definitely will be more competitive this year in district 1-5A.

Airline Boys •Wow, the Vikings are going to be fun to watch this year. Their performance on Saturday had fans believing the Vikings will be a team nobody wants to face starting district play. The Vikings were missing a couple key players, but still looked impressive.

Players were playing freely, hard, and having fun. The Vikings shot the long ball well and were able to go inside to a skilled Freshman post player. This kid will be a top player in the city in the next couple of years.

Haven’t seen a post player at his age with the b-ball IQ, footwork, and post moves in a long time.

Parkway Girls •Welp, Parkway showed that if you want to be crowned district 1-5A champs, you are going to have to take it away from them. Opposing teams’ guards better be able to handle the rock because the defensive ball pressure will be on 💯.

Bossier Boys •The Bearkats didn’t disappoint the fans in the last game of the night. They showed everyone why they are the defending non-select Division II state champs.

The undersize Bearkats look to use their speed, athleticism, and their defensive intensity to help them make another state title push. They executed their sideline breaks very well and effectively along with their 94ft of defensive pressure.

The young Bearkat’s even showed their experience when Parkway made a run and tied the game. Expect to see this team improve each week with their gauntlet schedule and receiving everyone’s best performance because everyone wants to knock the Bearkats off.

Parkway Boys •The Panthers boys had a great showing in their matchup with the Bearkats. The panthers have the guard play, athleticism and length to compete for the crown of district 1-5A. They execute their offense well in the half court.

Guards were able to handle the on ball pressure from the Bearkats.

Airline Girls * The Lady Vikings showed they will be competitive again in district 1-5A. Their guards played well against the Lady Panthers.

Bossier Girls •The Lady Bearkats entered the gym in style and walked out with a victory over the Lady Lions. This is a new Lady Bearkats team that plays with confidence and energy.

They showed they will be very active on the defensive side of the ball in the half court and full court setting. This team will win a few games this year under their new leadership.

Plain Dealing Girls •The smallest school in Bossier Parish gave the Lady Bearcats a great game. The lady lions have a few athletic players with size that will lead them to victories this year. The Lady Lions will continue improving week to week.
