Albert Robida (1848-1926/France) was a fascinating illustrator, caricaturist, novelist, etcher and lithographer. He did a lot of SF illustrations (now seen as retro-futuristic). I wonder if he influenced Hayao Miyazaki for Laputa, the Castle in the Sky and Howl's Moving Castle?
