Students from Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children recently visited Carnegie Mellon College of Engineering and received a tour of the Tech Spark makerspace and learned about 3D printing. They also enjoyed hands-on activities such as making slime and bouncy balls with Carnegie Mellon Chemical Engineering prof Joanne Beckwith Maddock.
To enable hydrogen production at lower cost and larger scale, we need better catalysts. Profess.or Profess.and, Rohan Yuri Sanspeur, and Javier Heras-Domingo developed an ML framework to narrow the compositional space they needed to search. cheme.engineering.cmu.edu/news/2024/08/2…
Excited to kick off a new semester by publishing some NEW research guided by Joaquin Resasco, Delia Milliron | @deliamilliron.bsky.social, and Profess.or Profess.and in ACSEnergyLett! When will we see cation effects for the oxygen reduction reaction? Let's go! 👇(1/n) pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
Proud to see two of our alums on the panel: Lilo Pozzo ⭐️⭐️⭐️🤌🏼 and David Bernal!
Coscientist, an AI tool developed by Carnegie Mellon Chemical Engineering and CMU Chemistry's Gabe Gomes, shows the potential to accelerate the development of new therapies by leveraging automation. newyorker.com/magazine/2024/…
Tomorrow we welcome Keith A Brown as the next featured speaker in our fall seminar series.
What is reactivity origin of metal surfaces upon a perturbation? charge transfer, strain, or ligand? This question has puzzled me since I was a student. Together with Profess.or Profess.and, we uncover a new resonance effect, with a little help from deep learning. journals.aps.org/prb/abstract/1…
Interesting new work led by the Profess.or Profess.and group exploring the sources of error in OC20. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art… Highlights in this thread.
Thanks to Profess.or Profess.and and Carnegie Mellon University #ChemicalEngineering for hosting me for a great visit. So much exciting Chemistry automation going on!
