Graphite polished pot made by Dorothy from Chimwele-Agripa. The British Geological Survey Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development | GRZ The Copperbelt University team visited the source of the #graphite in gneiss occurring just south of the village. Great to learn this traditional pottery skill is being handed down to the next generation.

Friday was our last day of #graphite exploration in Petauke District. Found graphite-rich gneiss exposed in washouts alongside the gravel track south of Great East Road in Chiso area. His Royal Highness Chief Mumbi of the Nsenga people said farewell & looks forward to updates.

Long journey (400km) back from Petauke to Lusaka, as well as rock samples there was 100kg of rice (from Malawi), 10 live chickens & a lot of dried fish! Will miss the #graphite team from British Geological Survey Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development | GRZ The Copperbelt University - it was a fantastic trip. Until next time we meet!
