The big news of SDCC 2025 for comics at least is this. Thank you, Jackie Estrada. You gave much more than you received, and you are leaving comics in a much better place than when you started.

I am knee-deep in SDCC right now, but dreaming up NYCC plans. When I'm knee-deep in NYCC, I'll be dreaming up C2E2 & ECCC & Bookcon plans. When I'm knee-deep at C2E2 & ECCC & Bookcon, I'll be dreaming up SDCC plans.

Update: We have chosen someone for this. We should be doing more of these for major cons in the future.

I am hearing of some significant layoffs at ComicBook.com in its editorial department, including of some tenured (and talented people) there. This comes exactly 12 months after it was sold by Paramount Global to Savage Ventures (Vice).

As part of this, I'll be hosting a panel with Kickstarter CEO Everette Taylor and his team talking about comics + crowdfunding. This and more is a B2B panel, for working professionals only. Expect us to go deep into the nuts & bolts of it all.
