This looks interesting. Difference-in-differences Design with Outcomes Missing Not at Random This paper illustrates how missing data can be a real problem in diff-in-diffs designs and proposes a path forward.

Did you know that your neighbors influence your political party? New in The Journal of Politics: Panel data on 41M voters show that people are more likely to switch political parties to match their neighbors.

#rstats So chuffed! I printed the first PDF copy of my book to see what it might look like in print! It will be printed in full color! Visualizing Multivariate Data and Models in R On the whole, looks good, but lots of tweaking to do. It weighs in at ~440 pgs.

This new preprint argues that racial minority city councilors in the U.S. have played a role in driving the current housing crisis. Electing a minority city councilor "increases single-family housing construction at the expense of multi-family housing."

There’s been a lot going on in the redistricting world these days. I want to reiterate one important finding: courts typically follow clear written rules! christophertkenny.com/drafts/princip… There’s lot of variation, but when rules are explicit, they normally bind in court.

Careful polling shows that Americans overwhelmingly reject political violence - see e.g. brightlinewatch.org/tempered-expec…, brightlinewatch.org/accelerated-tr…, and pnas.org/doi/abs/10.107…. Unfortunately, it only takes one person with a gun to create a tragedy like what've seen today.
