Shock and indignation at the discovery of the six hostages killed by Hamas in Gaza. My thoughts are with their loved ones. There must be an immediate ceasefire and the release of all hostages, including our compatriots Ohad Yahalomi and Ofer Kalderon. The war must stop.

It was an enormous honour for me to lay a wreath at the "Ravivage de la Flamme" at the Arc de Triomphe, in #Paris, yesterday. With Ambassador Niall Burgess, and the French 92nd Infantry Regiment, we commemorated the Irish men and women who have died fighting for #France 🇫🇷

I have been in contact with Michel Barnier to congratulate him on his appointment as Prime Minister of France. He is well known to us for his role leading the negotiations for the EU during Brexit. He is a committed European, a great friend of Ireland’s & has great experience.
