Really, really hate the decision to punt there and not just throw it up. We’ve seen #UVa’s special teams the past couple of years. We knew. They should’ve too.

At the half, Wake Forest leads #UVa 20-17.

A methodical 14-play, 75-yard, 7:20 long scoring drive pushes Wake’s lead to 27-17 with 7:40 left in the third quarter.

A really tough read by AC10 there to try to put one in where it had no shot to survive. Wake brings in the pick and has it again with 5:53 left in the third. Exactly what the #UVa defense didn’t need.

Deacs turn Colandrea’s second INT into three more points, pushing the lead to 30-17 with 2:10 left in the third thanks to a 26-yard FG.

#UVa goes seven plays and 66 yards, capped by a 24-yard TD pass from Colandrea to Harris, to make it 30-24 with 10:37 to play. Look, 10:37 is not only plenty of time to play but it’s an eternity.

Still kinda wild to me that #UVa has this many sacks. Wild.

That’ll go down as a 12-play, 56-yard scoring drive capped by the Brady Brosterhaus on the push to give #UVa the 31-30 lead with 2:07 to play. #gracious

(Also? Malachi Fields is legit incredible. Kid just makes plays and does it over and over again. Impressive stuff.)

So, let’s set the scene at the two-minute don’t-call-it-a-warning for all the DirecTV subscribers stuck on the Island of Misfit Toys: #UVa leads 31-30 with 2:00 to play as Wake has it 2nd and 3 at its own 32-yard line. Both teams with three timeouts left.

Clary straight up stole that kid’s lunch money and might have given #UVa a dub in the Dash for the first time in two decades.

Final: #UVa starts the season 2-0 with a 31-30 come-from-behind win at Wake Forest. (They’re still trying to figure out all the laterals but the score is what matters)
