Growth mindset cant work until we focus on S's strengths. When we focus on S's weaknesses they are discouraged & hopeless. But if we focus on their strengths it allows them to experience success. Success builds confidence. Then they will try new or harder things. Growth Mindset!

The WDE and the University of Wyoming will co-sponsor Embracing Literacy, a summer professional development opportunity focused on literacy practices. Embracing Literacy will be held virtually over a four-week span.

Incredible LVHS AP Fact #3, we had more students receive a 3+ on their AP English Literature Test than took it last year. That is right 19 of the 35 that took it earned a 3 or better while last year only 7 of the 17 that took the course were able to say that!

Kids sometimes make poor choices (just like adults). Keep in mind though, it’s the conversations we have with them and not just the consequences that make these poor choices learning opportunities.

70% of incarcerated adults are unable to read above a fourth-grade level, according to stats from the U.S. Department of Justice. Teachers can change these stats. We now have research that explains how language is processed and best learned. Structured literacy works. #teacher
