Q1- Forecasting is the foundation of our planning and budgeting process. We really do not move on any decisions without running it through the model. Forecast5 Analytics #EdFinChat

A2: We communicate with our school board and staff regularly with how the projections can change depending on pending legislation. We are very open to what factors went into creating the projection. We try to maintain as much transparency as possible. #EdFinChat

A3: The process has shown the other administrators that we do not have an unlimited amount of resources. It has brought the team closer together to problem solve how to accomplish initiatives that have dollars attached to them. #EdFinChat

Q4: We utilize our 30 year capital/maintenance plan to feed the financial model. Our IT department has a rotation cycle for equipment so that is also fed into the model. #EdFinChat

Q5: We utilize what if scenarios every year before a biennium state budget. It really helps explain to the board,staff and community the impacts that legislators have our our specific district. #EdFinChat

A6: Health insurance increase on the budget was much higher than the increase from insurer. I found a trend that on top of the insurer increase we also were hiring more staff that require family insurance. Now I use 2-3% over insurer projected increase #EdFinChat
