Today I reflect on Singer and Musician George Washington Johnson, the first African-American to make commercial records. Johnson, with a pianist backing him, sang his songs thousands and thousands of times at about .20 cents each. He was a pioneer in American recorded music.

First week of the semester ✅ & I’m filled with gratitude as I begin my seventh year teaching at the Dayton School of Law. Teaching & learning alongside the next generation of lawyers is a privilege & reminder of why this work matters to our students, community, & justice system for all.
