“She’s asking for it to go from $15 to $9,” So close, Governor Kathy Hochul! But the Traffic Mobility Review Board decides how much the toll will be, NOT YOU. You've had months to internalize this fact. Stop playing games and start congestion pricing before it's too late.

What a coincidence, Governor Kathy Hochul! We'll also be making some announcements pertaining to congestion pricing in the near future. Fair warning, you probably aren't going to like it.

Just like she did not have the authority to pause congestion pricing, Governor Kathy Hochul does not get to decide the toll amount. Call her office (518) 474-8390 and demand she move forward with the $15 toll.

Once the Value Pricing Pilot Program agreement has been signed and tolling starts, the federal government's role in administering the program will be complete. They'd have no avenue to stop it that couldn't be challenged in court.

I cannot put into words how much I deeply hate this rhetoric from the governor. 4.2 million subway rides per weekday, and she just cannot wrap her mind around how travel works through Manhattan.

So true. It will be weird to see people who generally dislike the Mayor praising him and being (extremely) disappointed with the City Council. It’s not going to be a good look and history will judge them harshly.

City of Yes is a modest plan. It should be the floor – not the ceiling – of our efforts to address this housing crisis.    I urge my colleagues in the City Council to hold the line, be bold, and pass City of Yes without carveouts.   If you're going to do anything: do more.

For no particular reason, a reminder that every Councilmember is up for reelection in 2025. There are several important open seats and some strong challengers to incumbents. Get to know your CM, learn their positions on important issues, prepare to vote in low-turnout primary

Fun fact about NY politics. The Governor has until end of year to sign bills so she usually waits until holiday season and vetoes a bunch right before Christmas, hoping no one notices. ☃️🎄🎁 And to all a good night🎁🎄☃️ gothamist.com/news/gov-hochu…

8 million people live in NYC & 65 million more visit every year – cars can never serve as the primary means of getting around a city as big & bustling as ours. Congestion pricing will allow us to build the robust, safe, and efficient public transit we need. Today is a victory.

“Save Lives is the motion!” and Community Board 1 in Brooklyn (Williamsburg and Greenpoint) passes the first community board resolution requesting a Sammy’s Law 20mph zone for their district! We can’t wait to see this turn into a citywide trend for safer, 20mph streets!

There is unprecedented support for cmjuliewon.bsky.social's universal daylighting bill Intro 1138 — at today's New York City Council hearing there have been (I want to say hundreds) of people speaking in support and literally only 2 people against it. We need universal daylighting!

After a deadly weekend of three car crash deaths, today we're in court fighting Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani's attempt to rip up safety improvements on Bedford. The Department of Transportation says: “The City risks legal liability for knowingly reducing safety on a Vision Zero priority corridor.”
