Happy Ethiopian New year [Enkutatashi]

Six BiT-BDU graduates, who won the SSI-Agri Hackathon 2021 of BiTec, have developed two software systems that enable the advancement of small scale irrigation. The graduates granted three-months internship position at Rensys Engineering and Trading PLC with full support by BiT.

Ethiopian Minister of Education Minister, Professor Berhanu Nega , Dr Frew Tegegne, the President of Bahir Dar University and Dr Fenta Mandefro, State Minister of the Ethiopian Ministry of Education visited the BiT MakerSpace in early December 2021.

Ethiopia's Minister of Education Minister and the President of Bahir Dar University pay a visit to the OVSI team. The OVSI program and test rig were put up while guests were treated to a practical demonstration of oxygen production.

One of the start-ups at BiTec /BiTMakerspace entitled ‘’Agelgile Production of Packaging Paper and Tableware from Agricultural Bi-Products ‘’ has been shortlisted among the Top 16 Nominee of the 2022 Royal Academy of Engineering Awards. Congrats and Good Luck 👏

BiTec has begun to incubate the selected six company concepts following HCD and Techno-Entrepreneurship training, constant follow up and monitoring of the applicants. The center desire that these ideas will be turned into businesses in the coming months. #bdu60festivity
