Since Jesus said the truth will set us free, failing to believe and live by it will enslave us to error, sin, and self-destruction. It’s vital that we join David in saying, “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me” (Psalm 25:4-5).

Joni Eareckson Tada pointed out to me the phrase in 2 Corinthians 1:4, “We can comfort those in any trouble,” and said, “You don’t have to be quadriplegic to comfort me.” You must have suffered, however. The résumé of every encourager and every counselor will contain suffering.

Jesus said God’s Word is truth (John 17:17). Dismissing Christ as mistaken and the Bible as irrelevant is prideful beyond description. “Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar” (1 John 5:10). What could be more arrogant—or dangerous—than calling God a liar?

What we believe about Jesus will determine whether we trust Him when suffering comes. And it WILL come. Disease and loss of loved ones are part of life in this world, and they will come despite the fact that you don’t want them. But you can prepare. ref.ly/1P4.12

Don’t walk away from people’s grief. Talk about their loved one. Grief is the normal reaction to a horrible loss. Grief is nothing to ignore or fear. When we don’t talk to people about their loved one who died, we make them feel lonely and out in the cold. https://ref.l…

Some of my circumstances (including income) would be better if I hadn’t followed Jesus. But better for what? Better for accumulating possessions, but not better for laying up treasures in Heaven and experiencing the exhilaration of trusting God to provide. https://ref.l…

You may think, “But I don’t deserve forgiveness after all I’ve done.” That’s exactly right. None of us deserves forgiveness. If we deserved it, we wouldn’t need it. That’s the point of grace. ref.ly/Ep2.67;CEV

My 12 year old grandson finished listening to the entire Bible last week. 15 minutes each evening over a few months. Now he wants to study specific books of the Bible. He is a great example to his cousins & a joy to me!

Adam, though guilty, said, "Don't blame me; blame my wife." The second Adam, though innocent, said, "Don't blame My wife. Blame Me."

You know, I might have more respect for a politician who lies and who actually will admit, "I lied," than a cowardly individual who says "I was mistaken" or "I misspoke" or "I was taken out of context" or "My value(s) haven't changed." Just tell the truth about what you believe
