Thanks once again to the Arbeitsgruppe für Biblische Archäologie for the opportunity to present at their recent conference on “Writing in Biblical Times”! I'm grateful for everyone’s generosity at the conference and thankful for the connections that were made there.

My wife recently published a handbook for applying principles from second language acquisition to teaching Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. It’s been GlossaHouse’s top-seller at the conferences this year! glossahouse.com/product-page/a…

Excited to discuss the law and the Christian in OT Theology class today. I find this thought helpful: “We need to shift our thinking...away from the ‘limit’ or ‘extent’ of application of the law….The issue is not how much of the law applies, but how it applies” (R.E. Averbeck).

Had an interesting conversation with some faculty and students about biblical commentaries yesterday. They can be a helpful resource. But, with notable exceptions, many commentaries today don’t make much of a unique contribution. What do others think about writing commentaries?

Yesterday's Hebrew Discourse Conference was a rousing success! 125 participants (1/2 in person), 18 papers, a plenary on the history and future of the field by Benjamin Noonan, and a panel discussion. Today we're resting. Tomorrow we start planning for the next one. :)
