Indeed a very good piece: It‘s often not clear whether ESG is about risk or impact. Mixing up both doesn‘t help either of the two. Only disagreement: The Taxonomy / SFDR afaik don‘t split companies into green/non-green but account for exact % of green revenues/capex/opex.

A long thread after a long night: That was tough weekend with many constructive discussions over the commision‘s proposal for the #gas_cost_break. Given the objectives set by the government, I think we have reached a very good proposal in the #GasKommission.

I’m still recovering from the weekend I spent at the gas commission, trying to develop a comprehensive €200bn policy package within 48 hours (which reduced the time allocated to sleep to about 4 hrs in total). What did the commission recommend, and why? Here is my take 👇

I cannot say anything material about the allegations around #briq. Despite being at Bonn for many years, the interactions with the people involved have been limited. What I can say is that the statement released by briq is not the tone I would have liked to see.

A big thank you to Ben Hartung from the European Central Bank for joining us in Venice. Very interesting to learn more about the ECB’s work around the management of climate risks and the implementation of climate action in monetary policy.

It was great to talk about the ECB‘s approach to climate risks in our monetary policy operations at the EEMI Symposium and learn about recent market practices regarding green mortgages.

I‘m more than happy to see this paper after more than 10 years finally out in print in the The Review of Economic Studies . We address an old question on the link between unemployment insurance and unemployment dynamics. Thanks to Moritz Kuhn Philip Jung for the great collaboration!
