The Midwest League votes Saturday whether to approve the sale of the Battle Creek franchise to Fun For Michigan, led by Bill Shea and David Hersh. The current owners — who also own the Iowa Cubs — are selling after 3 seasons, and failing to move the team to Dubuque. 10/13/2004

The Midwest League rejected the proposed sale of the Battle Creek franchise to Fun For Michigan. MWL team reps voted today at a meeting at Kane County. The future remains murky for the franchise, which will also likely lose its affiliation with the New York Yankees. 10/16/04

The Midwest League has approved the sale of the Battle Creek franchise to Fun For Michigan, headed by Bill Shea, and no longer includes David Hersh whose prior MiLB experience and actions were a deal-breaker. This ends a 3-year run in Battle Creek by Iowa Cubs owners. 10/30/04
