For probably the first time this semester, my plans have already been submitted before my plan on Monday. I'm actually "ready." You're welcome OK for any delays or cancelations tomorrow.

Not a lot of joy for me lately in teaching. I even cried today. So hoping to find the joy again to see my why past all the shadows.

Called in sick right after I got done puking. Haven't puked since, so of course I feel guilty.

So I ended up skipping school yesterday after a deer crossed our path. Admin was 100% supportive and came out to help with my two kids.

7th & 8th have a 5par argumentative essay due tomorrow by midnight. MLA. 2 sources 7th, 3 for 8th. They've had 3wks. Did I push them too hard? Some wasted a lot of class time goofing. 2nd guessing myself. #yourdailyfred #teachersoftwitter

Put off essay grading until Sunday night. Forgot one was about the deaths that inspired "Nightmare on Elm Street". Stayed up extra late to fill my mind with other thoughts before going to sleep.

A couple students were spreading around that several 6th and 7th graders wished I were dead. Admin got on it but as a child apologized I wanted to tell it was days like this and crap like this that I wished it too.

In the past 4 decades, most US schools use the majority of their time and resources on kids who misbehave and essentially ignore the kids who are trying to do the right thing. What many refuse to believe is; when a school takes on too much, they will fail…miserably.

Yesterday was one of those days that had me trying to think of a new line of work. All I could think of was teaching. Guess I need to hold on to what I love and throw the rest in a dumpster fire.

Private, tax payer funded schools for the haves, and underfunded public schools for the have nots. That’s their end goal.
