Wrote a new blog post for the axo blog: how we made our shell installers smarter. We now track the version of glibc Linux binaries were built against and do some smart version comparison to make sure we're always installing a binary that actually works. blog.axo.dev/2024/08/glibc

"The worst thing an installer can do is fail to install software, but the second-worst thing an installer can do is to successfully install software that doesn't work." great post on $ axo | otl's latest work on glibc compat from Misty

lots of folks are surprised when they see cargo-dist builds their apps on the oldest runners it can, find out why it makes your app work for as many users as possible! 💪 blog.axo.dev/2024/08/glibc

I didn't expect increased unification of the Windows and Unix development experience to be a side effect of Rust's success, but it's a very nice one. The fact that tools like Nushell and ripgrep are cross-platform makes switching between Win/Mac/Linux much more seamless.
