3 months working as a scientist in the corporate made me even more aware of accepting I don't know what I don't know. I went from knowing nothing about working with samples and procedures, to where I can independently operate most microscope instruments + wrap up a report. (1)

7 yr ago I stood in front of the library (3rd pic) looking at this grass field, not knowing how the path would wind up but just feeling close to heart. Blast. Absolutely zero idea of how life changed & how our paths crossed. 👉 People & environment are important for #gradschool!

I traveled back to my undergrad this past week to lead a workshop for current McNair interns on applying for the NSF-GRFP. I applied as an undergrad because of my participation in McNair, and it was great to be able to pass on insights learned to help future graduate students!
