UBI critics: If we give people money without conditions, people will stop working. UBI pilot: Turns out the UBI group worked more than the control group. UBI critics: Well of course giving people more money works. But it costs too much. UBI pilot: Turns out the money spent on

if you’re an autistic person and you need to leave an event because of sensory overload/overwhelm: it is not a personal failure on your behalf, it’s an accessibility failure on their behalf

Many #Neurodivergents, myself included, have had to leave a workplace at some point because the office space is sensory hell (lights, noises etc) it's hard to explain the burnout does not come from the work itself -in which we often excel-, but just from the actual office space.

Congrats to the artist who managed to get the NYPD to put ACAB on their own vehicles! It's reminiscent of some other possible examples of graphic design worker sabotage: libcom.org/article/goatse…

It is valid to be anxious around someone who has traumatized you. It is equally valid to be anxious around people who support them after you’ve spoken up.

If an autistic person sends you a long email/message, it’s probably because they need to discuss the matter in a written format due to their processing differences. Please don’t call them out of the blue for a “quick chat” about it; that’s more likely to overwhelm than help them.

personally if i was concerned that “everyone was diagnosis themselves with ADHD from tiktok” i would question the effectiveness of the medical system that meant they needed to do rather than villainising social media or the person themselves. hope this helps!

I just hangout with autistic baristas from Indonesia, and we perfectly shared our stories about challenges growing up as neurodivergents in an Asian country. I hangout with neurotypicals and I sat in silence most of the time. Different spoken languages & shared interests.

so much allistic analysis of autism is "difficulty understanding social cues" when it's often actually "refuses to accede to arbitrary social constraint without reason"

This but more importantly: financial stability like basic income. Many of us can't work in a regular job (for example sensory issues, bullying) and no amount of therapy is going to change that.
