Day two of the New Heights Program introduced students to “Classical Fundamentals.” Local architects, Tressa Messenger, Elizabeth Reay, and Jordan Fredricksen from ICAA Texas Chapter were on site to help students understand how lessons from the past inform design today. 🐴🎨

The New Heights program took to the streets with ICAA Texas Chapter today to learn about and sketch the architecture history/story that continues to shape this beautiful city. ☀️

Art 1 students have been busy making centerpiece sculptures inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night 🌌

Having someone review and provide feedback about your art is a really difficult process to accept and own! These students are digging in to W.I.P. Crit. and as a result, discovering that so much can be learned when we step back and listen to what others are seeing.

Art 1 students are busy designing an original children’s book that teaches the Elements of Art. The storyline and artwork are all student generated! I can’t wait to see these artistic collaborations come to life! Best book will be printed!!! 📕 🖼️

AP Art & Design is digging in to peer feedback on finished work today and tomorrow! This valuable part of the creative process helps young artists get the affirmation they need to feel proud of their work and the extra eyes to help them see what they can still work on to grow!
