In 2021, #LatinaEqualPayDay was 10/21. This year, it is today, 12/8. Not only that, but Latinas went from earning 57 cents for every dollar earned by non-Latinx men to 49 cents. This is unacceptable. The wage gap is rooted in racism & sexism. All of us must commit to equity.

Latinas reportedly made 55 cents for every dollar made by a white male before the pandemic, and it hasn't increased much since — Mónica Ramírez breaks down the pay gap and what it means #LatinaEqualPayDay

Equal pay is common sense — and long overdue. This Latina Equal Pay Day, let’s recognize the wage inequity faced by Latinas across America and recommit to doing everything possible to live up to our values. Equal pay makes all of us stronger.

Let it be clear- book bans have NO place in Illinois. I'm sponsoring SB689 which bars any school district, library system, or school board from banning books. When we ban books, we erase history. Thanks WGN TV News for giving me the opportunity to discuss the importance of SB689.

Important news: 1 in 5 Chicagoans identifies as Mexican, census data show. We need more Latino/Bilingual/Bicultural reporters, community & city leaders. wbez.org/stories/1-in-5…

It's been two years since I have been a writing contributor at Adweek and would love to share my latest piece. I challenged myself to write about the topic of #tokenism. This is written as a letter to People Managers in the marketing, media, and tech industry. Give it a read.

The The Washington Post reported that in 2018, the Trump administration restricted the FBI from investigating sexual assault claims against Brett Kavanaugh. In solidarity with the National Women's Law Center & other partners, we demand that the U.S. Department of Justice conduct a complete independent investigation.

It should be clear by now that Harris was done in by wide-spread discontent. I understand why ppl pounced on eye-popping #s among Latinos in places like NJ & TX. But Trump didn't win any of PA/WI/MI/NC/GA *b/c* of Latinos. To say so was irresponsible -- & bad political analysis.

As parents, we deeply feel the pain of Michael and Susan Pretti. They lost their son Alex—a dedicated nurse, a kindhearted man who spent his last moments trying to protect another person. The lies this administration is telling about Alex are disgusting and reprehensible. The
