Catching up w/my wonderful community health nurses is often the high point of my wk - we talk abt faith/my progress towards ordained ministry. One nurse is RC and also loves Poland. Today she gave me this beautiful hand painted ✝️she’d bought for me in Zakopane. I’m so touched ❤️

A w/end full of #joyful #praise! Sang alto in quintet Haydn Mass y/day for Patronal Festival/#BVM @StMarytheVirginSundon then today played piano/led the belting worship songs in café-style Morning Praise St Nicholas Church, Harpenden From v high to v low! Exhausted now but totally worth it!

This am was #Kadcyla #6of14. Essay reading + pic from 18/08/23 in the same place. Struggling mentally today after a w/end high. This treatment is relentless & I’ve so much to do that’s urgent. Yet I’m more tired each cycle. So fed up & want off the #chemo treadmill #breastcancer

Well I hadn’t visited same day emergency for a while! Horrible night running to the loo, being sick, feverish, low grade fever so needed preventative antibiotics in case of neutropenic sepsis. Temp now normal, waiting for bloods. Hopefully home this aft. Superb nurses & care ❤️

You haven't seen complexity in art until you've seen this 600-year-old painting. It's so detailed that modern medicine has been able to diagnose this man's exact type of blindness. And that's where things get mind-bendingly strange — this whole thing is an illusion... 🧵

Today on the chemo ward, as usual, I answered so many ministry, faith & vocation Qs & talked w/ one of my lovely nurses on how to get married in her parish church. Her smile has made my day. Telling ppl they are welcome remains so crucial. We forget that ppl assume the opposite.

So tired today but so worth it for a wonderful day of worship & singing y’day - choral Eucharist St Nicholas Church, Harpenden w/ Choir of St Nicholas Church, Harpenden, Herts, 90min workshop then performance of Tallis’ 40-part Spem in Alium (I was alto, choir 7) & Come and Sing Evensong. Finally transferred to haematology/oncology ward @5am. So relieved. Trolley beds are uncomfortable! V happy w/ my large 2-bed room on a modern ward w/ its own loo next to a window which opens. Little things like that help so much #chemo #infection #Kadcyla #bilateralbreastcancer

I'm stable! Hickman line's out & won't be replaced. Consultant is liaising w/ microbiology to change antibiotics so I can hopefully be discharged tmrw! I'm theough the other side. TY for all your prayers/support. Much love xxx #septicaemia #grateful #chemo #bilateralbreastcancer
