As Americans, we should all wish President-elect Trump tremendous success. We are in this together. We succeed or fail together.

I for one have faith in the collective wisdom of the American People. I also remind myself that many who voted for the President-elect did so in spite of his behavior and rhetoric, not because of it.

The mandate is clear - the American people voted for a stronger economy, safer communities and a secure border with thoughtful pro-immigration policies. I do not believe the American people voted for division or for cultural wars.

I certainly believe they didn’t vote to pick on transgender kids or to control women’s healthcare decisions.

There is so much we can agree on, and I hope our incoming political leadership understand their mandate and focus on pro-growth, pro-public safety common sense legislation that moves our country forward, not backward. Our future is bright. And we are in this together.
