I joined CNN to talk with Anderson Cooper about what we learned from RFK Jr’s confirmation hearing today. Catchy taglines are no substitute for clear policy. And decades of doubting vaccines can’t be undone in a day. We Americans deserve better. Here’s our conversation 👇

Out today in Foreign Policy: I wrote about what will happen if there is an H5N1 pandemic with Robert F Kennedy, Jr. in charge of safeguarding the health of Americans. If RFK Jr is leading HHS & H5N1 begins spreading human to human, the deaths will be counted in millions.🧵👇

I am disheartened that several CDC webpages are currently down. I hope this is just a temporary pause. Infectious diseases don't take breaks. The American taxpayers who paid for these data deserve the ability to access the lifesaving information derived from these data.

🚨Urgent CDC analyses on seasonal flu, bird flu in cats & in wastewater have been stalled. And CDC has stopped contributing flu data to global platforms, says WHO. “Delays in data create dangerous situations on the front line.” My latest KFF Health News kffhealthnews.org/news/article/c…

🚨Texas measles outbreak nears 100 cases, w/16 hospitalizations. Officials suspect it's spilled just across the border to New Mexico. Low vax rates+undetected infections mean it will grow. My latest kffhealthnews.org/news/article/t…
