March rotifer of the month! The rotifers that grew really happy and healthy ready for another shock pilot!!

New food! Hoping this solves our food supply crisis... look how cute this bag is. Tetraselmis vs Nanocloropsis/Tetraselmis mix trails starts next week. Fingers crossed the new food has a similar or better result!

April rotifer of the month! So many super happy healthy rotifers! They grew to very dence numbers ready for some more shock pilots. If only all our rotifers would grow this well!

We missed May's rotifer of the Month due to us being extremely busy in the lab but here's is a belated rotifer of the month for June. Here's our single survivor of 120ug/L of copper sulphate phentolahydrate. Sadly died after a few days, but surviving 24hrs was pretty impressive!

Inspirational scientis leading a grant writing workshop in a place that looks like it's from a storybook. A dream ? No not a dream! It's surprising how much self confidence in your ideas and knowledge arises when you have no internet, diverse group work and expert guidance!

First weekly cycle of 'shock' selection pressures for my populations today! Every bench in the lab is full of jars,I wish I could show the magnitude of this but it is way too big!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas here in the rotifer lab ! 🎄 the naughty and nice list is full, our rotifer picture has her chritmas hat, rotifer stocking (not a sock) are hung and there is a rotifer salt angle in the marine salt ❄️

I had an amazing time at my first Population Genetics Group Friendly people, great science what more could you want! See you next year in our very own Sheffield! I will have results from my ongoing experimental evolution by then 🤞🏻

Amazing how many diapause embryos this single population has produced. Just look at how visible it is by eye! 2000+ a record for the rotifer lab 🏅

The last cycle of my experimental evolution has officially ended after 7 months! Still lots to do but I can't wait to see how facultative sex affects local adaptation! I will miss wheeling these giant green jars around, making everyone curious as to what they could be 🧪
