The Department of Health and Social Care has announced £400 million investment to boost clinical trials. Given the challenges in embedding research in the NHS, this funding is welcome. It has the potential to make the NHS more attractive for clinical research and trials, benefitting patients and the UK.

Delighted to represent AMRC at this event to celebrate women in cardiovascular science organised by one of our members British Heart Foundation. Great to hear funding to back policy commitments from CEO Charmaine Griffiths. Action is needed from funders across the life sciences sector (and others).
