Once in a lifetime view in Fort Worth (well... hopefully one of at least a couple more)

#KingdomOfThePlanetOfTheApes started out strong and was great at showing how history becomes myth, then corrupted into religion, but the whole 2nd half stalled out and became just ridiculous (sea vault?!) Great VFX, but weakest entry in the reboot series. 3/5 stars.

At its core. The #Garfield movie was just a low rent, cartoon heist, "Bad Guys" knockoff. Good voice acting with Pratt, Ving and Jackson, but character design and visuals were mid. Seemed like a poor excuse to use the comic strip IP, which added nothing to the film. 2/5 lasagnas.

#Insideout2 shows that if Pixar and Disney stick to what has worked for the past 100 years, there are no limits to pleasing ALL, not just MODERN audiences. Perfect writing, characters, visual effects (particle simulations, oh my). An absolute GEM of a film. A joyful 5/5 Stars.

#AlienRomulus is a fantastic return to the core roots of Alien. Mood had the same "feel" as the original film. Solid and interesting plot and characters even with the familiar story beats. The scary monsters and the dark space atmosphere really make it shine. 4.5/5 Chestbursters

#TransformersOne was surprisingly good. Engaging story with snappy script and pacing. Respects the lore. Funny for all ages (Praise be to B-127) and eye popping material and lighting effects. Probably the best Transformers property I've seen since G1. 4.5/5 Energon cubes.

I can thoroughly recommend Undaunted 2200 Callisto by Osprey Games 🎲. This is the solo game state after 2 turns and I already love it. Techs tried to split up to get to the objectives while their nailgunner is pinned by a corp mech. Props to Digby/Turczi for an awesome bot system!

Whelp, Chris Sanders added another masterpiece to his animation catalog with #TheWildRobot. A heartfelt story of parenting set in the background of a harsh but beautiful natural landscape with some of the warmest animals ever put to screen. It will jerk tears. 5/5 stars.

What I really liked about DreamWorks Animation animation's #DogManMovie is how well they nailed the theme of "being there for your kid" done in the books same awesome art style. Makes me want to be a better dad and be there in the moment for them, and I think I do that pretty OK. 4.5/5 ⭐
