Our Children get less than 4% of federal funding, which hurts the chances of them from getting better treatments. Many of the treatments that are meant to save our Kid’s, ends up killing them. We need MORE funding & we need BETTER treatments. 🎗#ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth

Imagine… I feel this as a mom who has seen this in my own children and as a teacher who has watched for 30 years as education has completely changed into a money making test machine that doesn’t care about the well being of teachers or students.

One of the most significant things we could do to change education for the better would be to really acknowledge difference. We could simply accept that not all five year olds are ready to read, and not all 16 year olds are ready to do high stakes exams. 1/

And I would add that they should care if Kindergartners are being allowed to play, so that they can learn to get along and solve problems! It infuriates me that they are expected to be reading, test taking robots as littles that have only been on this earth for 5 years!

It used to be that 22% of college students majored in education. CURRENT numbers are < 4%! 😮 Instead of figuring out why, states and districts are lowering the requirements for becoming a teacher. Then some experts will ‘wonder’ why test scores have been declining. 🙄😕😡
