Just finished reading The Book of Why by Judea Pearl. A very interesting read. I already cover some of Pearl’s work in my grad econometrics class -- it may be time to add a little more! Next book up for me: The Lady Tasting Tea.

If you are planning to apply to a PhD in Economics, you should consider our program at ASU Economics W. P. Carey School . Deadline to apply is January 15th. A program overview, job market placements and link to apply are here: wpcarey.asu.edu/economics-degr…

Just finished reading Streets of Gold by Abramitzky and Leah Boustan. As an economist, immigrant, (and fan of MythBusters), I really enjoyed this myth-busting tale of immigration written by economists.

Discussed a paper by Alex Bell, Stephen Billings, Sophie Calder-Wang, and Shusheng Zhong at NBER Real Estate today. It’s an exciting, very novel paper showing a new way to identify and estimate hedonic price functions using an "anti-IV"!
