Some of our foster homes have the water back but still no electricity. Some STILL have no water, and it’s hot with no air conditioning!! We’re doing our best to keep ourselves and our rescued Satos cool in the shade! #HurricaneFiona

As #HurricaneFiona approached Puerto Rico, one of our stellar volunteers, found these three puppies at an abandoned house in Arecibo. It was the night before Fiona made landfall. Now look at how playful and happy they are…and safe!

Here’s our newest rescue safe and sound inside the car of his rescuer. We found Finn in a dangerous location very close to the highway at the Plaza Las Americas shopping mall in San Juan. He appears to be a white German Shepard…super affectionate dog!!

RESCUED: our new pup we’ve named Santorini. He wandered onto the property of one of our volunteer’s neighbors shortly after #HurricaneFiona hit Puerto Rico. That person fed him but couldn’t take in Santorini permanently. Our volunteer stepped up and rescued this very sweet dog!

The Satos we flew to Maine this week were on the news!! We’re grateful to Animal Refuge League for helping our rescue efforts and to NEWS CENTER Maine for covering this story!

Arti found his forever family back in 2020. We are so grateful his people went to Sterling Shelter aka Animal Shelter Inc & Clinic to adopt him. “He has stolen our hearts already. He is very curious and just wants to be by your side. Enjoys playing fetch and tug and has a very healthy appetite.”

Several weeks ago, someone abandoned these 14 puppies without their mom in a ditch alongside a rural road. Fast forward to today when 8 of them flew to Sterling Shelter aka Animal Shelter Inc & Clinic. It’s amazing what a safe foster home, veterinary care, and TLC will do for a puppy!

Six puppies were born to a stray dog in Aguadilla and a kind person trying to help them contacted us. One of our volunteers drove to the west coast of PR the next day to rescue them. They’re all so cute, playful and friendly. Judging by their size, they’re going to be tiny!

Happy New Year! In 2022 we transported 1,366 rescues to shelter partners on the mainland. And just like that we have our very first rescue of 2023. We found this dog we’ve named Serban in Bayamón. We will do all we can to help him get healthy so he too can fly to the mainland.

Gotcha Days are the best! Coco’s family found her eight years ago when they went to @HSNaples after we rescued her in Puerto Rico. They tell us Coco is a really happy girl. Her family celebrated her big day with a special treat.
