Action for Life Skills and Values in East Africa has worked with 60 teacher educators in Machakos Teachers Training College, to enhance their capacity in nurturing life skills and values among learners. We successfully provided onsite support in developing assessment frameworks, tasks and rubrics.


Action for Life Skills and Values in East Africa Zanzibar in partnership with the Zanzibar Examinations Council are in a 3-day workshop with item writers, to continue drafting items for creative thinking which will inform the learning progression, teachers guides and preparation for the large-scale assessment.


Action for Life Skills and Values in East Africa is partnering with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development KICD in a 3-day baseline survey on Values-based Education (VBE). This survey precedes the pilot of VbE that will be conducted in 80 regular & SNE schools targeting learners in Grades 4, 5 & 6


As the Values-based Education baseline survey ends today, learners are sharing how they understand & practise values. They are also sharing ideas on how to sustainably nurture values among children. Action for Life Skills and Values in East Africa Uganda has concluded a workshop with 5 VaLi organizations: Uwezo Uganda FICH, Aga Khan Foundation @KukuzaEdudation & Educate to co-create on Learning Journey with Schools (LJS). They covered the LJS theory of change and outcomes for the proposed intervention.
