New ESC 2024 Guidelines 🫀: Female gender was removed from CHADS-VASc score in new ESC guidelines for management of AF, now named as CHADS-VA. Rationale : female gender is a risk modifier rather than risk factor for stroke.

Update for European Society of Cardiology 2024 Guidelines 🫀: While hypertension remains BP ≥140/90 mmHg . A new category of 'Elevated BP defined as a BP 120-139/70-89 mmHg due to more patients at risk for heart attack and stroke. Target range of 120-129 mmHg for most patients receiving BP 💊
