When firefighters are sent to extinguish abandoned campfires, they are taken from fighting other wildfires which could threaten homes or communities. Be sure to properly extinguish your campfire. Soak it, stir it, and soak it again until the coals are cool to the touch.

Yikes! #OakWilt has been found in Ontario (Niagara Falls). This tree disease is caused by a fungus and has been found to infect all species of oak - red oak is particularly susceptible. Acorns from oak trees are an important food source for wildlife and oak is a high-value wood.
