It’s #HeritageTreasures day & we’re lucky enough to work with fascinating collections. 📹: Jaw bone of a pig or boar + 2 coins discovered inside the bread oven The Landmark Trust’s #LlwynCelyn - presumably placed there to ward off spirits before it was blocked up. We’re back Doddington Hall, uncovering more stories as we #digitise collection highlights. This #armour belonged to Royalist cavalry officer John Hussey. The breastplate was poorly made to keep cost down & sadly in 1643 he ended up paying the ultimate price! Historic Houses

How do you fancy stepping back in time via #VirtualReality? During our #free public #OpenDays on 10-13 #June we're giving you the chance to experience #LLwynCelyn as it would have been thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund & Architectural & Heritage Scanning. Amazing work from Architectural & Heritage Scanning of a drum from the Cambridgeshire Regiment collection. This is one of three Regimental drums hidden after the fall of Singapore in 1942. The drums were rediscovered by Mary Taylor, a Red Cross Welfare Officer, and returned to the Regiment in 1946.
