About 200 huge footprints, which were made 166 million years ago, criss-cross the limestone floor in Oxfordshire. They record the comings and goings of a long-necked sauropod called Cetiosaurus and the smaller meat-eating Megalosaurus. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

For #MuseumSelfieDay, here's one in the marine mammal collections at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History with a big ol' male Stellar sea lion (CM 960). This was back on June 2024, when I was doing some collections reconnaissance for OHIO Honors Program undergrad Grace Vance while she was overseas. 🦭

On this #fossilfriday, take a moment to remember the great Richard Fortey, who passed last week. Scientist, naturalist, writer, and gentleman of the highest caliber. My thoughts in Stephen Moss obituary for The Guardian theguardian.com/science/2025/m…

Growing up in America, I never had a chance to get a Blue Peter badge as a kid... But I have one now! Ticked one off the bucket list as Abby & the crew filmed with our School of GeoSciences @ University of Edinburgh students The University of Edinburgh, in the lab and in the field on Skye!

Again enormous thank you to the Marsh Trust and the Palaeontographical Society for the Palaeoart Award. Legitimately, unbelievable 😱

Our School of GeoSciences @ University of Edinburgh Masters students recently had the opportunity to not only prospect for dinosaurs and collect fossils on the Isle of Skye... ...but to have BBC's Blue Peter film them! The cool stuff you can do if you study in Edinburgh! blogs.ed.ac.uk/geosciences/20…
