Today, we learned about what plants needs to grow. We planted sunflower seeds in soil, gave them water and placed them in the sun to help them grow. We’re looking forward to taking them home towards the end of the year. Whitegate C/E School

Today in Maths we having been learning about number bonds to 10. We moved pegs along a coat hanger to help us find some of the bonds. Whitegate C/E School

This afternoon we have enjoyed creating our own mini-beasts by cutting and sticking different body parts together. Later in the week we will write sentences about them. Whitegate C/E School

Today we have been learning about doubles. We used objects and our fingers to help us find double of a number. We also made ladybirds to show doubles up to 5. Whitegate C/E School

This afternoon in Science we have been learning about different insects and invertebrates. We drew a picture of our favourite insect and then wrote a sentence about it. Whitegate C/E School

Today, we continued our learning on doubling and halving. We explored these concepts using a variety of different concrete objects, including the part-part whole model. Afterwards, we had a go at writing down the doubling number facts to 5. Whitegate C/E School

Acorns, you really shone today! You filled the room with smiles and a sense of pride! We are so proud of each and every one of you and saw today just how much you have all grown. Well done! Whitegate C/E School

Today we released our butterflies! The children have absolutely loved watching them change from the caterpillar stage to the butterflies we released today. Whitegate C/E School

Acorns enjoyed getting outside this morning and taking on some super challenges. Our favourite activities were spraying the tricky words with water and going on an outdoor scavenger hunt. Whitegate C/E School

This morning we had a visit from Mr Heathcote, who came in to talk to us about his bees and about being a bee keeper. We even got to try some fresh honey from his hive! Thank you Mr Heathcote we loved it! Whitegate C/E School

Today, we have been revising our number bonds to 4, 5 and 10. We used a variety of methods including our fingers, heads and cubes to work out the missing parts of each bond. Whitegate C/E School
