The 1912 Baker Electric car retrofitted with a solar panel in 1960 was the first solar powered car. The panel cost $20,000 (~$161,700 today). The Baker, powered by the panel, could run for 3 whole hours at 32 km/h [📹 + read more: buff.ly/3Y7uNfW]

I was taken by how many presenters at IntSoc Biomechanics 2023, a large meeting of ~1000 people, acknowledged their partners and/or family back home. Academia is not a 9-5 job. Yet all these presenters were women! Gents, I think we have some work to do… #academia #WorkLifeBalance
