Congratulations to our 5 superusers in Penang! 👏 With Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade 🇦🇺 support, as part of developing a transport micro-simulation model for Penang, we also trained selected MBPP staff on how to use the model to ensure long-term use and enable them to improve mobility for all residents.

Our Penang project is coming to a close. At the final workshop attended by ADB, MBPP, Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai, ICLEI and other organizations, the team discussed highlights of the micro-simulation model development, training delivered, TIA Guideline recommendations, and the sustainment plan.

The AASCTF Penang Final Report is out now. Financed by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade 🇦🇺, the development of a mobility micro-simulation model with MBPP and Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai will help implement transport solutions to improve the way citizens move around the state. Smart cities are sustainable cities. ADB and #Australia are working hand in hand to build more smart cities in Asia and the Pacific through the ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund (AASCTF) under the Urban Financing Partnership Facility. adb.org/multimedia/par… Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade 🇦🇺

OUT NOW: Asian Development Bank has released the Urban Financing Partnership Facility 2023 Annual Report. The UFPF supports urban development in Asia and the Pacific, including in the ASEAN via AASCTF. See our updates on page 53, and pages 14-19 for our impact stories. adb.org/documents/urba…

With Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade 🇦🇺 funding, we supported MBPP with developing a smart mobility micro-simulation model. This is the first of its scale in Penang and will enable authorities to evaluate transport projects, engage with the public for proposed changes, and protect Penang's heritage.
