Here is a history of #NATO expansion since 1986. Keep in mind we’ve promised Russia numerous times that NATO will not expand. We’ve reneged every time.

The number system we use today has its origins in India. With all the anti-immigrant rhetoric recently, it's important to remember the ways that different cultures enrich each other. Fascinating to hear William Dalrymple speak about his brand-new book, The Golden Road.

Today I learned that the Cholas in Jaffna gave refuge to Hindus fleeing the destruction of the Somnath Temple, and that the Jaffna Kingdom later sheltered those escaping the sacking of Srirangam and Madurai.
