On today's SILIKA weekly seminar series, Prasanta Sanyal has delivered an interesting talk on the entanglement of the pollution of ground water as well as Hindon River water with the current agricultural practices in the Hindon Subbasin. Stay tuned for upcoming episodes!

Congratulations to Santrupta Samantaray, PhD for successfully defending his Ph.D. thesis! 🎉 His work is based upon understanding the effect of #climate_change on #biogeochemical processes in the #terrestrial_aquatic_interface using #stable_isotopes and #biomarkers as proxies.

❗️New Paper Alert❗️ Ever wondered how true is the proverb 'You are what you eat'.📜🤔 Does our tissues really store this information? This study examined 100 people and studied 66 food items to see how the type and amount of food affected their hair and nails. (1/n)

One of my graduate students dropped by my office, exasperated, and said, "I don't know how to innovate. So, how can I do a PhD?". I erased my whiteboard and began listing strategies for generating new research ideas. They left reassured and excited! As #professors, we mentor

One in 10 woody plants build domatia, tiny homes for mites on their leaves. The mites benefit the plants by eating fungal and arthropod pests. The relationship is so successful that mite domatia have independently evolved hundreds of times. In PNAS: ow.ly/6aR350Uj4IC
