And thus an All-Way Stop intersection was born. When visibility of oncoming traffic is limited (see last photo far right), an all-way stop helps drivers and pedestrians cross safely!

Trade, Trust, & Prosperity are interlinked. When you don’t “trade” with your local community (exchange good mornings, current personal events, light community gossip), how can you develop trust? When you don’t trust, how can you share needs & help one another prosper?

Even just taking the People Mover out to the Transit Center before calling an Uber is going to be such a game changer for folks arriving to LAX. Current shuttle was easy albeit not ideal (obviously) Had to snag a photo of this beautiful place! (Culver 6 Bus was on 30min hdwys)

Your periodic reminder that FilmLA, the 3rd party company responsible for “consolidating & streamlining” the film permit process in LA County… … takes a 67% mark-up for simply being the middleman. So if City charges $100 to film, FilmLA adds another $67 for their “service” 🤯

These are the types of people who should be elevated to the highest level of government. Need more high agency individuals if we want to get good governance.

This new pole will be knocked down again by an over eager semi making this right turn in less than a month. Could easily prevent this from happening with some adjustments to its location but that would require a design, deviation, special permits, etc. So it wont get moved :/

Google & Apple maps have to stop routing to unprotected left turns. They are responsible for like 70% of collisions with cars, peds, & bikes. It’s one of the few times where influencing things for “the good of the world” has no downside. (Other than maybe a few min of time)

In a Waymo that has very clearly just been hotboxed 1 or more riders ago. Waymo will need to have some tight controls or reviews analysis to be sure they crack down on accounts violating the social trust. Otherwise another incredible ride; when can I buy my own?

A subtle but important shift in the last decade is that we are now so prosperous that the private sector can now fully undertake projects in industries that used to require governmental scale. Rockets, supersonic aircraft, nuclear fission and fusion, etc. Massive implications.

Completely agree with this. Systems that can remove bad actors are stronger than those that don’t. My optimistic self will always push for these systems. However, realistically, there are some areas where it is too difficult and/or no societal desire to remove bad actors.

The biggest problem with cars is that they mean each new neighbor directly takes away from your quality of life, and a lot of very nasty politics directly follow once you internalize that

Any Sepulveda Transit Corridor plan that doesn’t have a stop at Westfield Culver City / the Fox Hills, feels like a miss. Tons of density here & more expected! Culver City Planning Commission signs off on 1,000+ apartments at 5757 Uplander Way la.urbanize.city/post/culver-ci…

Take the money you were going to use to comp free buses and use it to improve service frequency. I guarantee you 99% of ACTUAL riders will take the latter. Once frequencies are as low as physically possible, then we can discuss free fares.
