By many measures, London is the most unequal region in England. The capital's population is made up of a higher proportion of the top 10% of earners than anywhere else. But it also has the highest proportion of those on the lowest incomes.

In 1979, almost half (49%) of MPs in the three main parties were educated privately. Following the election, that figure is now 24%. However, only 7% of the population attend private schools, meaning those who are privately educated are still overrepresented in each party.
