So much for "nobody wants to work anymore": 80.7% of prime-age (25-54) Americans were working in March, the highest rate since May 2001.

Overall participation is still well below its prepandemic peak, of course. But that's almost entirely about the aging population. Adjusting for demographics, participation is pretty much back to where it began, and employment is all the way back.

Key nugget from the March jobs report gain of 236K, according to Glassdoor Lead Economist Daniel Zhao, the Black unemployment rate fell to 5%, a record low based on 50-year old records.
