Today I learnt the definiton of maternal morbidity. The term describes short & long-term health issues during pregnancy and childbirth. Surrogacy mothers have a 7.1% rate of severe maternal morbidity, notably higher than ordinary mums (2.4%) and mums who used IVF (4.6%).

I’m against #surrogacy in all circumstances & this post touches on the reasons why - there are SO many ways in which babies are negatively impacted by separation from their mother; developmental delays, attachment difficulties, lack of the best possible start with immunity etc.
