Oh help! Oh no! It's a new Gruffalo sculpture!

The Gruffalo has returned from his holiday and looks completely transformed from the time away.

Circular Drive, Loop Walk and the Gruffalo sculptures are now all open in the Old Arboretum. Thank you for your patience.

On Tuesday we hosted climbing arborists from Westonbirt Arboretum - Forestry England and @Kewgardens for a joint aerial rescue training day. The three teams were represented by 12 climbers in total, who spent the day sharing knowledge and performing aerial rescues using a range of rescue techniques.

The UK’s most common bird of prey, buzzards are often seen soaring above our trees.

In spring, male buzzards perform a 'roller coaster' flight display to attract a mate.

They help us with disease control, removing diseases and bacteria by feeding on dead animals.

We have been working today with the Forest Research Tree Health Diagnostic and Advisory Service team on one of our regular tree health checks at Westonbirt.

The management of pests and diseases within our trees is helped by early detection and prompt action.

Roe deer make their home here and normally give birth to their fawns in May.

With vulnerable newborn and juvenile deer moving within the arboretum and the UK countryside during spring, it is important we keep our distance to allow them to protect their young.
