Coming from over 120 countries, they bravely work in some of the most dangerous & unstable places on earth to protect civilians & uphold human rights.‌

With 🇺🇳 #SummitOfTheFuture approaching, I was happy to talk to Secretary-General António Guterres at #SIDS4 .

🇪🇺 is committed to contributing to the Summit’s success. We are actively engaging in the discussions about the reform of the international financial architecture.

This year, UNRWA needs 415 million dollars to support #PalestineRefugees in Syria and those who fled the country to neighbouring Lebanon and Jordan due to the conflict. Only 9% of our appeal has been funded so far.

In the margins of #Syria Conf2024 , I reiterated the EU support to UN Envoy Geir O. Pedersen.

After 2 years, the Constitutional Committee must reconvene as soon as possible.

International efforts must redouble towards a political solution in #Syria , in line with #UNSCR2254 .

At  #SyriaConf2024  the 🌍 community proved again that the people in Syria, Syrian refugees and their hosting communities are not forgotten.

In support, we we have raised a total €7.5 B (€5 B in grants and €2.5 B in loans).

The EU & MS together pledged 3/4 of the total grants.

Small Island Developing States have lost an estimated US$153 billion since 1970 due to climate-related hazards.

They are hugely impacted by the effects of climate change.

Today, as humanitarian needs for nearly 7.5 million in #Syria remain acute, joint efforts are more important than ever.
